As a driving instructor, I am sometimes asked what ADI & PDI mean

ADI - stands for Approved Driving Instructor

An ADI must have passed all 3 stages of the qualifications and test standards set by the DSA (Driving Standards Agency) in order to teach others to drive.

This is an intensive course of three parts                 - part 1   Theory and Hazard Perception

                                                                                 - part 2    Practical Driving Skills

                                                                                 - part 3    Instructional Techniques

An ADI must be registered with the DSA - Driving Standards Agency

An ADI  must show a  'GREENlicence in the windscreen of the car when teaching pupils.

PDI   - stands for 'Potential Driving Instructor'.

A PDI will have passed parts 1 and 2 above and are now undergoing a period of development and assessment while being mentored towrads passing part 3.  They are qualified to teach and are working hard towards part 3.

A PDI must show a 'PINK' licence in their windscreen.

I do not in anyway suggest that a PDI is any less able to teach you or any less experienced but they are less qualified.
